Where to start?  Is the first blog post always the most difficult?  If a blog falls on the internet...

I start with this weekend because this weekend is fun, and will be more so.  Work this week = successful.  Kids are starting Spring break, and are therefore happy and excited.  We played D&D last night with our good friends B&D.  Yes, I am a D&D geek.  Throughout high school, I always wanted to play D&D.  But I couldn't find anyone who played.  None of my friends were interested, and the nerdboys who played (and surely there must have been some) kept themselves well hidden.  After high school, I went to college.  Still no D&D.  The I met my husband, started dating, had lots of fun.  Had similar interests.  Got engaged.  And then found out - he had played D&D, and still did once in a while.  He got together a game, and I was hooked.  So I play with his group from when he was a kid, and lately have finally recruited B&D.  So I'm not the only girl!  D of B&D is also a girl.  Woohoo!

We play old school, btw.  None of that D&D 3.0 crap or whetever.  Thanks, Hasbro, for sacrificing a perfectly good thing at the altar profit. *sigh*

I made dinner for everyone - on D&D nights I try to make slow cooker meals so we can all hang out.  The issue - I love fish.  B&D love fish.  The kids and hubby hate fish.  So, I made poached salmon in one slow cooker and chicken in the other.  It works, trust me.  Poached salmon in the slow cooker is the most wonderful thing - easy, and delicious.  I came across the recipe on about.com.  For those who may want it, you can find it here: http://busycooks.about.com/od/salmonrecipes/r/poachedsalmon.htm

Make sure to get fresh salmon from the seafood counter.  Preferably from Whole Foods (yes, I'm one of those.  Go watch Food, Inc. and you will be too).

Going to a movie tonight, and the whole gang will be hiking and picnicking tomorrow.  Gotta march along now - ya'll take care.
